Sohini Alam is a British vocalist of Bangladeshi descent whose musical repertoire includes folk, patriotic, modern and traditional Bengali songs with a specialisation in Nazrul Sangeet. She has branched out into multi-lingual music in bands, dance, and theatre. A third generation vocalist, Sohini trained in music with Hiron Alam, Jannat Ara and Ferdous Ara. She is the lead vocalist for Khiyo (which she formed with Oliver Weeks) and Kishon Khan's Afro-Cuban-Bengali jazz band, Lokkhi Terra.

Her previous work includes the music for multiple dramatic performances of Tahmima Anam's A Golden Age and for various productions by artists including Akram Khan (in DESH) and Arun Ghosh (in Akademi's Song of the City). She has performed in Six Seasons at the Southbank Centre and worked with Tara Arts on People's Romeo and Dick Whittington Goes Bollywood. She also sang for Tara's productions with Hardeep Singh Kohli (Bollywood Cinderella and Kanjoos). Her vocals have featured in the films The Last Thakur and Life Goes On. She has appeared multiple times on BBC radio. Appearances with Lokkhi Terra have included Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, WOMAD, the Ealing Jazz Festival, the Secret Garden Party, the closing ceremony of the 2010 South Asian Games in Bangladesh, the Barbican Centre, and the first Dhaka World Music Festival.
