For I will raise her statue in pure gold;
That while Verona by that name be known
There shall no figure at such rate be set
As that of true and faithful Juliet.
They raised a statue in her honour. Eyes of gold that watched as time passed.
They wanted to preserve her memory, but in doing so, trapped her spirit.
Unable to move on, she watches as her story is forgotten, her family cursed by her sacrifice.
To escape and be at peace, Juliet must face each one in turn, spurred by a faint hope
That after years encased in gold, her love still waits for her on the other side.
Juliet is a monologue based movement piece. It uses dance and physical theatre to tell a ghost story that fate should not allow. As though they died to be together, they are somehow apart.They must answer for their actions, face their fears and enemies who wait beyond death for love to finally triumph.
